TRANSIT AND STORAGE INSURANCE

Furniture is not designed to be moved! Whilst Australian Moving Logistics takes all the necessary precautions to protect your possessions, there are many outside forces beyond our control that need to be considered when moving such as weather, accidents, vibration, shock, pressure, movement and atmospheric changes.

After your goods are packed, they may pass into the hands of other organisations including rail and shipping companies, airlines, handling agents and customs and quarantine officials (when moving overseas). It is for these reasons that we strongly recommend that you consider transit insurance for your relocation.

To ensure your peace of mind against unforeseen circumstances, we have developed a comprehensive Transit Insurance Cover that is available to you to minimise the risk and exposure you can be subject to in the unfortunate event of an accident or major incident occurring.

CHOOSE A PERSONALISED PLAN

Fully insuring all of your goods may not be an option that you’re able to take. With our moving insurance, you can customise the following options:

  • Transit or storage insurance
  • Fully covered or restricted coverage
  • Replacements based on market value or replacement costs
  • How big are your trucks?

We have trucks with capacities to cater to all your needs, including 126 cubic/m, 76 cubic/m and 50 cubic/m air-ride vans. We also have 38 cubic/m container trucks and smaller 28 cubic/m vans.

  • What time will my movers arrive?

Australian Moving Logistics routes the trucks two days prior to moving day. We will contact you the working day prior to your removal to advise a start time.

  • Do you have insurance?

Yes. All Australian Moving Logistics vehicles are covered by full comprehensive insurance, covering your belongings whilst in transit against fire, flood or collision. We can also arrange for your belongings to be insured for the entire move.

  • Do you do packing?

Yes. Our fully trained packing staff are ready to help you with projects of any size.

  • Do you offer storage?

Yes. We offer a wide range of storage facilities.

  • Do I have to take the mirror off my dressers?

No. Our team brings all the necessary tools that are needed to move and reinstall your mirrors that are attached to your dresser. We cannot remove mirrors that are screwed into the wall.

  • What happens if I have more items on long distance moving day?

We can only provide an accurate quote based on the initial information you give us. If it is found that you require more items to be moved than first mentioned, additional charges may apply.

  • What do you consider a large box and a small box?

A large box can be carried one at a time. Small boxes can be carried two or more at a time.

  • Can I leave clothing in my dressers?

We can move your dressers with the drawers in them, but we highly recommend emptying them. Items may be left in the drawer, such as clothing or linen on local moves only. Please remove all jewellery, perfume and non-clothing items.

  • Do I have to take my beds apart?

No. Our staff supplies all the necessary tools to disassemble and reassemble your beds for you. If your bed has air or water fill, please have it emptied prior to the day of your relocation.

Some beds may require additional services and costs, such as complicated bunk bed systems and canopy beds. All the bedding should be removed from the bed prior to the arrival of your removal team.

  • Do I have to empty my freezer or refrigerator?

Yes. The freezer & refrigerator must be emptied to prevent the contents from damaging the inside of the appliance.

  • Do you move pianos?

Yes. We move pianos. Contact us to find out more.

  • Do I have to empty filing cabinets?

Metal vertical filing cabinets can remain full; however, lateral and wooden filing cabinets must be emptied. This is due to the draws sliding on lateral cabinets, while wood filing cabinets are not made to take the weight of the files during moving as per manufacturer guidelines.
